How to Install an eSIM Manually on an Oppo Device

This guide provides a step-by-step walkthrough for manually installing an eSIM on your Oppo device.

Prerequisites

Before starting the installation, ensure you have the following:

Strong Internet Connection: Ideally, connect to Wi-Fi or have a reliable mobile data connection.

eSIM-Compatible Device: Check if your device supports eSIMs. Refer to the article on the List of Compatible Devices for verification.

Unlocked Device: Ensure that your device is not locked to a specific mobile network. For details, consult the article on Locked/Unlocked Devices.


Remember to turn on Data Roaming once the installation is complete.


Installation Steps

1. Open Settings: Go to Settings on your Oppo device.

2. Select Mobile Network: Tap on Mobile Network.

3. Add eSIM: Tap on eSIM.

4. Tap Next: Select Add eSIM and then tap Next.

5. Need Help?: When the QR code screen appears, tap on Need help?.

6. Manual Entry: Tap on Enter it manually.

7. Input SMDP+ Details: To manually install the eSIM, enter your SMDP+ Address and SMDP+ Activation Code in the format:

“1$SMDP+ Address$SMDP+ Activation Code”.

Your code should look similar to the one shown in the reference screenshot.

8. Download eSIM: Tap Download to initiate the installation process. Note: Do NOT close this window while the installation is in progress, as it may cause the installation to fail.

9. Activation Time: Allow up to 10 minutes for the eSIM to activate.

10. Go to Settings: After activation, tap Settings again.

11. Check Data Roaming: Ensure your Data Roaming is turned on by going into Data eSIM.

12. Enable Data Roaming: If the Data Roaming toggle appears white, tap it to enable it.

13. Confirmation: The Data Roaming toggle should now be displayed in blue, indicating it is on.

14. Completion: Your eSIM is now installed and set up successfully.


Troubleshooting

If you face any issues during the installation, double-check your internet connection and ensure that your device is unlocked and compatible with eSIM technology. If the installation fails, retry the process from the beginning.
