How to Install an eSIM Manually on a Motorola Razr

This guide provides a step-by-step walkthrough for installing an eSIM manually on your Motorola Razr device.


Prerequisites

Before you start the installation process, ensure you have the following:

A strong internet connection: Ideally, connect to Wi-Fi or have a reliable mobile data connection.

An eSIM compatible device: Check if your device supports eSIMs. Refer to the list of compatible devices if you’re unsure.

An unlocked device: Verify whether your device is locked to a specific network. For details, consult the locked/unlocked devices article.

Remember to enable Data Roaming after the installation is complete.


Steps to Install an eSIM Manually

1. Open Settings: Go to Settings on your Motorola Razr.

2. Select Network & Internet: Tap on Network & Internet.

3. Access Mobile Network: Tap on Mobile Network.

4. Open Advanced Menu: Tap the drop-down menu labeled Advanced.

5. Select Carrier: Tap on Carrier.

6. Add Carrier: Tap Add carrier.

7. Proceed to Next Step: Tap Next.

8. Enter Code Manually: Tap Enter code manually.

9. Input SMDP+ Information: You will need your SMDP+ Address and SMDP+ Activation Code. Enter them in the format:

1$SMDP+ Address$SMDP+ Activation Code


The code should look similar to the format shown in your documentation.


10. Start the Installation: Tap Start to initiate the installation process. Note: Do NOT close this window during the installation, as it may cause the process to fail.

11. Wait for Activation: Allow up to 10 minutes for the eSIM to activate.

12. Complete the Installation: Once activation is finished, tap Done.

13. Return to Previous Screen: Tap the back arrow to return to the previous menu.

14. Enable Data Roaming: Ensure that your Data Roaming is toggled On.

15. Accept the Prompt: Follow any prompts that appear to confirm the change.

16. Verify Data Roaming: Ensure the Data Roaming toggle indicates that it is enabled for the installed eSIM.

17. Completion: Your eSIM is now installed and set up!
