How to Install an eSIM Manually on a Huawei Device

This guide provides a step-by-step walkthrough for installing an eSIM manually on your Huawei device.

Before You Start

Make sure you have the following:

Strong Internet Connection: Ideally, connect to Wi-Fi or ensure a good mobile data connection.

eSIM Compatible Device: If you’re unsure, check the list of compatible devices.

Unlocked Device: Confirm that your device is not locked to a specific network.

Remember to enable Data Roaming after installation.


Installing an eSIM Manually

1. Open Settings: Go to Settings on your device.

2. Access Mobile Network: Tap on Mobile Network.

3. Select SIM Management: Tap on SIM Management.

4. Add eSIM: Tap Add eSIM.

5. Enter Manually: Click on the + in the bottom left of the screen, then tap Enter Manually.

6. Input SMDP+ Information:

• You will need your SMDP+ Address and SMDP+ Activation Code.

• Enter the information in the format: 1$SMDP+ Address$SMDP+ Activation Code.

• Leave the confirmation code section blank.

7. Add eSIM: Tap Add this eSIM.

Note: Do NOT close this window, or the installation will stop.

8. Wait for Activation: Allow up to 10 minutes for the eSIM to activate.

9. Access eSIM Settings: Once the eSIM has finished installing, tap into the eSIM settings.

10. Enable eSIM: Tap to enable the eSIM.

11. Check Mobile Data Settings: Go back into Mobile Network and tap on Mobile Data.

12. Turn On Data Roaming: Ensure that your Data Roaming is toggled on.

13. Confirmation: The Data Roaming toggle should show as enabled.

14. Completion: Your eSIM is now installed and set up.
