This guide provides a step-by-step walkthrough for installing an eSIM manually on your Google device.

Installing an eSIM Manually

Before starting the installation process, ensure you have the following:

A strong internet connection: Ideally, connect to Wi-Fi or ensure you have a good mobile data connection.

An eSIM-compatible device: If you are unsure whether your device supports eSIMs, check the relevant list of compatible devices.

An unlocked device: Verify that your device is not locked to a specific network by checking the locked/unlocked devices guide.

Note: Remember to enable Data Roaming once the installation is complete.

Step-by-Step Installation

1. Open Settings: Go into your Settings and tap on Network & internet.

2. Add Mobile Network: Tap the + next to Mobile network.

3. SIM Card Setup: On the new screen, tap Don’t have a SIM card?.

4. Proceed to Next Step: Tap Next.

5. Access Help: When prompted with the option to scan a QR code, tap Need help?.

6. Manual Entry: Select Enter it manually.

7. Input Your Details: To install the eSIM manually, you will need your SMDP+ Address and SMDP+ Activation Code. Enter them in the format: 1$SMDP+ Address$SMDP+ Activation Code. The final code should resemble the example provided in your reference materials.

8. Activate Installation: Tap Activate to begin the installation process. Note: Do NOT close this window during the installation, as it may cause the process to fail.

9. Wait for Activation: Allow up to 10 minutes for the eSIM to activate.

10. Return to Network Settings: Once activation is complete, go back into Network & internet.

11. Access Mobile Networks: Tap on Mobile Networks.

12. Enable Data Roaming: Ensure your Data Roaming is toggled On.

13. Verify Toggle: Confirm that the Data Roaming toggle is set as shown in the installation confirmation.

14. Completion: The eSIM is now successfully installed and set up on your device.
