How to Disable 5G on iOS & Android Devices
Disabling 5G can help conserve data usage or improve connectivity in areas with weak 5G coverage. Follow the steps below for your device:
For iOS Devices (iPhone & iPad)
1. Open Settings and tap Mobile Data (or Cellular).
2. Select Your eSIM: Choose the eSIM for which you want to disable 5G.
3. Tap Voice & Data under the selected eSIM.
4. Choose 4G: Select 4G (or LTE) to disable 5G.
5. Your device will now use 4G instead of 5G.
For Android Devices
1. Open Settings and go to SIM Cards & Mobile Networks (or Connections > Mobile Networks, depending on your device).
2. Select Your eSIM: Choose the eSIM you want to configure.
3. Tap Preferred Network Type (or Network Mode).
4. Select 4G or 3G: Choose Prefer 4G (or LTE Only) to turn off 5G.
5. Your device will now prioritize 4G or 3G instead of 5G.
If you experience network issues after disabling 5G, you can always switch back to automatic mode using the same steps.
